who’s up for a smoothie? part 1

I’ve been home alone for the past few days and without Sean at home I am not really in mood to cook. So I live on smoothies. And hummus. I even had hummus with crackers for breakfast but that’s a whole another story. Garlicky hummus for breakfast is a no no. Don’t do it! Anyway, these are three of my favorite smoothies. I use frozen fruits in order to enjoy them cold as I don’t like adding ice cubes in my smoothies and shakes.

who’s up for a smoothie? or three?

Pineapple smoothie

1 cup frozen pineapple
1 medium frozen banana
1 cup non dairy milk or pineapple juice

Mango smoothie

1 1/2 cup frozen mango cubes
1 medium fresh banana
1 cup non dairy milk

Classic Strawberry Banana smoothie

10-12 frozen strawberries (not the large ones)
1 medium frozen banana
1 cup non dairy milk or water

Throw all ingredients in a high speed blender and blend for 30-45 seconds. Serve in a tall glass. Enjoy!

apricot banana frosty

Few weeks ago I visited my mother and her apricot trees were full with sweet and ripe apricots. I ended up bringing home a big big basket full of apricots and as it was impossible to eat all these in a few days period, I decided to cut them in two, remove the seeds and freeze them. Since that day, our usual banana-strawberry frosty has been replaced with this sweet apricot banana frosty. Serve it in a frozen glass for an even frostier frosty :)
